Access for All: Building an Accessible Glass-Bottom Boat
For 75 years, our glass-bottom boats have inspired awe and stewardship of our precious water resources. We’re committed to making this experience accessible to everyone—including those with mobility challenges.
We are fundraising to design and build an accessible glass-bottom boat and specialized dock. These investments will break down physical barriers and open Spring Lake’s wonders and educational opportunities to everyone, creating inclusive experiences that foster a connection to nature for all.

The Texas One Water Initiative
Meadows Center staff receive a tour of the Blue Hole Primary School One Water features. One Water is a collaborative approach to managing all forms of water—drinking water, wastewater, stormwater, and greywater—as a single, interconnected resource. Through our Texas One Water Initiative, the Meadows Center works together with partners to help communities put sustainable water management solutions into practice and build a more resilient water future. We are seeking funds to help us build an effective One Water program at the Meadows Center.

Join the Texas Stream Team
Make a difference for Texas waterways as a community scientist.
Texas Stream Team brings together trained volunteers and partners to monitor and protect waterways across Texas.
Through hands-on water quality monitoring, volunteers collect valuable data, learn more about local waterways, and contribute to efforts that support healthy Texas communities and ecosystems.
Support Habitat Restoration Initiatives
Habitat Field Crew
Get your hands dirty for a healthier San Marcos River.
Habitat Field Crew volunteers help protect and restore the unique ecosystems of Spring Lake and the San Marcos River. Join our team for hands-on stewardship activities, including removing invasive species and supporting native habitat restoration!
Spring Lake AquaCorps
Dive in and help steward Spring Lake.
Our diving program partners with select scuba divers to protect and preserve Spring Lake's abundant natural, historical, and cultural resources. We train community scientist divers, and in return, they volunteer their time to one of the most unique habitat restoration projects in the country.
Annual Earth Day San Marcos Celebration
Help make the annual Earth Day San Marcos Festival celebration a success. Volunteers support this community-wide event through educational activities, event assistance, and other opportunities that connect people with the environment and natural resources.
