Texas State Recreation and Sport Management Program & The Meadows Center for Water and the Environment

In November, Hays County will elect a new county commissioner for Precinct 3. The person elected to this important position will have an impact on parks and recreation, as well as land and water conservation in Central Texas. Hays County is home to diverse rivers, streams, plants, and animals—some of which are at risk due to development and human interference.

The Recreation and Sport Management Program, in partnership with The Meadows Center for Water and the Environment, will host a forum with the two candidates running for this position, Rebecca Minnick and Morgan Hammer. We invite students, faculty, staff, and community members to join us and learn how each candidate would work to protect Hays County’s natural resources if elected.

The forum, moderated by Texas State students, will last approximately one hour and will be followed by a brief meet-and-greet with the candidates. Refreshments will be provided.
